Hydro Tasmania, Australia's leading renewable energy business, chose to enter a team in the Mark Webber Pure Tasmania Challenge as the best way to support the race, promote their business and support their own people's involvement.
The team members were approached individually and asked if they would like to participate. Jane Crosswell, Diane Chisholm and Stephanee Cannell are all Hydro Tasmania employees, while State Endurance athlete Imogen Pearce happily accepted an invitation to join the team. Unfortunately Jane has had to pull out of the Challenge due to injury, but Su Sprott has kindly stepped up to take her place.
Diane Chisholm
Diane is a Human Resource Officer with Hydro Tasmania. Diane is 33 years old and generally enjoys the outdoors and keeping fit. Diane is a keen bush walker and has participated in the Freycinet Challenge as part of a team. While she has done a number of fun runs over the last year, this is the first multi-discipline, adventure race that Diane has competed in.
Stephanee Cannell
Stephanee is a Project Manager/Business Analyst with Hydro Tasmania. Stephanee is 37 years old and loves a challenge that requires some determination and grit. Stephanee has competed in three Point to Pinnacle events, one Burnie Ten race and several orienteering team events.
Imogen Pearce
Imojen is a 29-year old Protozoan Biologist with the Australian Antarctic Division. She has been competing in local Tasmanian and interstate multi-sport and endurance running events including Freycinet Challenge, Winter Challenge, the Cradle Mountain run and Triple tops for the past 6 years.
Su Sprott
Su is a 36 year old outdoor education teacher, and a mother to 2 young children. Su recently took up competitive mountain biking, and competed in the 2006 Wildside MTB. Su competed in the 33hour Quoll Adventure Race in Cairns with fellow Hydro team mate Imojen Pearce, winning the women's division. Most recently Su did the Epic 110km Australian MTB Marathon Championship in SE Queensland where she won the veterans women's category. Su is looking forward to the challenge and getting back in amongst Tasmania's wilderness.
